About Takayuki Morita

I serve as President and Chief Executive Officer (Representative Director) of NEC Corporation, a leader in the integration of IT and network technologies that deliver benefits to businesses and people around the world.

Having joined NEC in 1983, my experience in the global ICT industry now spans nearly four decades, six years of which I spent working in the U.S. market. In the past twenty years, I have played a central role in the development of partnerships and alliances with corporations across the globe as CFO (Chief Financial Officer), CGO (Chief Global Officer) and Corporate Officer responsible for business development – having completed more than forty deals of corporate M&A and investments. Among my most notable accomplishments in this regard have been the spin-offs of the semiconductor, flat panel and passive component businesses; the creation of joint ventures in the wireless, enterprise communications and PCs businesses; as well as numerous acquisitions and investments in the consulting, managed services, and digital government/digital finance and AI drug development domains.

In the more than 120 years since its establishment, NEC has contributed to society by bringing about innovation through the use of not only its advanced technologies but also its wealth of knowledge, experience, and ideas. NEC defines its “Purpose” as creating the social values of safety, security, fairness and efficiency to promote a more sustainable world where everyone has the chance to reach their full potential.

To fulfill this “Purpose,” we have presented the NEC 2030VISION, the future world we envision for 2030, and are making this vision a reality by implementing digital technologies and gaining support from various stakeholders.

Under our Mid-term Management Plan 2025 announced in May 2021, Digital Government/Digital Finance, Global 5G, and Core DX have been designated as key growth pillars. By leveraging our diverse assets and high-quality technology implementation capabilities, we plan to grow these businesses both in Japan and globally to create new environmental, social, and economic value, thereby leading to the realization of the NEC 2030VISION.
