About Sumanth Swaminathan
Sumanth is a digital health entrepreneur with extensive experience in the development and commercialization of machine-learning backed software applications for real-time, early detection and care of chronic and infectious disease. He co-founded Vironix during the early 2020 Covid-19 pandemic with the intention of leveraging global data on viral disease progression to create novel at-home technologies that could blunt infection spread and improve population health outcomes. Sumanth has over a decade of product and business development experience in past roles as a technology consultant, chief data scientist, and CEO. He has immersed himself in digital health technologies for over 7 years as he worked to merge the best traditions of predictive modeling and clinical science to deliver innovative, personalized healthcare solutions.
Sumanth is an adjunct professor of mathematics at the University of Delaware and a specialist in numerical methods including machine-learning predictions and stochastic simulation. He did his PhD in applied mathematics from Northwestern University and Postdoctoral research fellowship at Oxford University & Northwestern University. Outside of his professional life, he’s a passionate saxophone performer/teacher who loves to travel.
