About Pooja Rao

As head of Research and Development at Qure.ai, I led the conception, development, and clinical evidence generation of FDA-cleared, AI medical imaging software products that are now used in 40 countries. As co-founder of the company, my role extends beyond R&D to business development, managing strategic client relationships, and fund-raising.

Before Qure.ai I worked in data science and real-world evidence strategy at industry-leading strategy consulting firms serving pharma and medical device enterprises. My deep technical expertise in the application of machine learning methods to medical images, large real-world evidence databases, genomics, and other medical data types. I have co-authored over 25 peer-reviewed articles and listed as an inventor on 5 US patents

I trained as a physician and subsequently earned a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the Max Planck Research School, in Gottingen, Germany by developing one of the first machine learning applications for large-scale genomics data.
