About Mike Pederson

Mike Pederson is senior vice president of Abbott’s Cardiac Arrhythmias & Heart Failure Division, which is central to Abbott’s goal of reshaping how physicians monitor and treat conditions that can profoundly impact health and quality of life, such as advanced heart failure, atrial fibrillation and other heart rhythm disorders.

Mike has more than 25 years of experience in the medical device industry and has held leadership roles supporting cardiac rhythm management, vascular and electrophysiology businesses for some of the largest companies in biotechnology.

An engineer by training, Mike has always been driven by innovation and advancing the therapies and device solutions that will propel health care past what is currently possible. Over the last two decades, Mike has witnessed extraordinary leaps forward in how we treat cardiovascular disease and wants to help play a direct role in the development of therapies that will redefine health care over the next decade. Throughout his career, Mike has been energized by collaborating with physicians and researchers who provide insight into where health technology needs go and in being involved directly in engineering the strategies needed to most effectively meet the needs of physicians, hospitals, payers – and most importantly – patients.
