About Katelyn Nye
Katelyn Nye is the Executive General Manager of GE Healthcare’s industry-leading Mobile Radiography & Artificial Intelligence businesses. Under her leadership in 2020, GE Healthcare was the first x-ray manufacturer to launch an AI X-ray solution to detect pneumonia, indicative of COVID19 findings, as well as an embedded ET Tube Placement AI algorithm in a mobile x-ray system. In 2019, she led the development of the industry’s first FDA clearance of AI algorithms embedded on-device for triage and pathology detection – product name Critical Care Suite.
Katelyn joined GE Healthcare in 2008 as a part of its Edison Engineering Development Program, during which time she worked in systems engineering for the company’s CT business. Subsequently, she led the development and commercialization of the first web-based business intelligence analytics application for an x-ray fleet.
In 2019, Katelyn was honored as the sole GE Healthcare recipient of the GE Corporate Edison Women in Technology Award, acknowledging her technical leadership within the company. Additionally, her clinical research regarding advanced x-ray applications has resulted in multiple patents with the USPTO. She is also the author of many scientific publications and conference abstracts for radiology, medical physics, and informatics peer reviewed journals/conferences.
Katelyn received her Bachelor’s in Electrical and Audio Engineering from the University of Miami.
