About Julia Laflin
Julia started working for ICI at the age of 19 and her first role in the company was involved with tricky R&D communications issues such as chain smoking beagle dogs and the release of a controversial heart drug.
She spent 10 years working in industry before being invited into a career in PR and marketing consultancy and gained considerable experience through a number of PR consultancies. She went from Account Executive to MD in 18 months at her first PR placement; was Account Director for the multi-million pound Whitbread Round the World Race and headed up the Food & Lifestyle Division at Phipps PR before founding Norton Cowan Communications in 1999. Alongside this she collaborates with a number of digital, marketing and events agencies on client initiatives as well as completing six years in a non-executive role at The Hurlingham Club. Norton Cowan still continues, alongside Julia’s role at Imagineear Ltd.
