About John W Hadden II

I’m a senior life science executive, entrepreneur and business leader, with particular experience in biotech and immune-oncology. My recent career has focused on transforming innovative, world-class scientific capability and potential into properly funded and resourced scientific solutions that reach clinicians and benefit patients. I’ve been involved in all stages of the journey from research through to clinic, and have a deep understanding of the scientific principles, funding and commercialisation process, regulatory environment and market dynamics in life sciences. To this complex, challenging process I bring significant operational, corporate governance and capital raising experience gained from my background in investment banking and venture capital.

Most recently, I am proud to be involved in the establishment and launch of ViroCell Biologics Ltd, an exciting new business bringing viral vector-enabled therapy from the research lab into human clinical trials.

I have extensive experience shaping and executing strategy, building strong partnerships, managing transformational change and leading genuinely diverse organizations. In addition to hands-on executive roles, I provide support and insight to leadership teams on issues including equity investments, royalty acquisitions and seed financing, as well as broader operational and commercial matters.

I’m a lifelong learner, and in addition to my bachelor’s degree and MBA from Harvard, I relish the opportunity to work with smart people, who are true experts in their field. I have forged strong links with research communities in leading health and academic institutions internationally, in particular in the US and UK. I also have an extensive network from the venture capital and investment banking sectors and have developed strong links with Key Opinion Leaders around the world, who can act as credible advocates, building support and understanding for therapies and treatment paradigms.

For much of the time my working life is consuming, fast-paced and intense. Outside of my professional sphere I enjoy leisure time with my family and friends, with sport a favored shared activity, in particular skiing and tennis.
