About Jeremy Chase Crawford
I am an innovative biologist with experience in most aspects of genomics and bioinformatics, from computational simulations and experimental design to molecular techniques, next-generations sequencing, and machine learning. I have extensive experience developing and optimizing molecular and bioinformatic workflows, with emphasis on creating novel applications for the newest NGS technologies. I am analytically minded and particularly appreciative of the challenges associated with designing and carrying out technically and conceptually complex experiments that require a diversity of scientific expertise. Among my strengths is an ability to fully understand the “big picture” of a project while simultaneously considering all of its complexities.
I also specialize in scientific project management, team management, and cross-cultural collaboration, with experience managing significant international research projects and developing collaborations with scientists from numerous institutions across five continents. Whether pursuing research independently or as a member of a team, I pride myself on a strategic approach that involves fully understanding each step of the research process. From constructing a comprehensive examination of the question or problem at hand to analyzing the experimental data, I endeavor to deconstruct each element of a project in order to optimize our approach and maximize our progress.
At St. Jude, my work integrates molecular and computational biology, immunology, and biotechnology with a focus on keeping our department operating at the cutting edge of science. My involvement spans both basic and applied research, including projects related to T and B cell receptor repertoires, single-cell genomics, epigenetic and molecular regulation of immune cell differentiation, and clinical immunotherapy trials. My responsibilities include project management, experimental design, scientific mentorship, and data analysis, among others.
