About Gillian Leng

A clinician by background with a passion for using evidence to improve care, I became the second CEO of NICE, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, on 1 April 2020.

With a career spanning evidence synthesis, management, research and healthcare, I am excited to be taking NICE forwards at this crucial time. Building on NICE’s fantastic international reputation, a new 5 year strategy will transform the organisation to ensure we are fit for the future. Our new methods and processes will put us at the forefront of evaluating new medicines, devices and diagnostics, and deliver dynamic living guidelines for frontline staff.

International networks are key to our success, and I am also Chair of the Guidelines International Network.
