About Ravi Rao

I am a pharmaceutical physician with over 15 years’ experience at board, executive, managerial and leadership level across both large and mid-sized pharmaceutical and public biotechnology companies. My therapeutic knowledge is broad and includes immunology, rheumatology, GI/hepatology, dermatology, haematology, metabolic medicine, ID and rare diseases.

My passion is to translate innovative science into medicines of value for patients with unmet medical need. I have a track record of innovative delivery from research, early development, filing and registration through launch and life cycle. I have led organisations (from 20-250 people) through significant growth and transformation and have led and implemented corporate and BD strategy. I have chaired highly successful partnerships both with academic consortia and with other partner companies and have extensive experience of productive interactions with investors, analysts, boards, regulatory agencies, payors, media, physicians and patient advocacy groups,

I am an accredited rheumatologist and previously held a senior clinical academic position at Imperial College London where I conducted basic research and managed patients with complex auto-immune and inflammatory diseases.
